BACKGROUND
Matt Kirby, managing director of leading events
management company Crocodile Events was seeking to
streamline the back office operations and customer
experience for Crocodile events ever expanding
client base. Matt had identified the cost benefits of
automating these procedures and recognised the need
to analyse Crocodile Events booking operations and
seasonal trends. Matt commented "As a rapidly
growing business we were aware that for maximum
profitability and enhanced customer experience we
needed to introduce a streamlined back office
operation. We realised that the result would be
double edged; both increasing our own efficiency and
profitability and producing a smoother and easier
process for our existing and potential clients. Our
core objective was to supply information to the
clients at the click of a button ad to analyse our
booking process, allowing us to allocate our time to
the areas of the business that were the most
successful.
PROJECT SUMMARY
Matt called
netexperts and explained his
requirements. He was looking a database system
that was both cost effective for an expanding SME and that also allowed additions to the
system without requiring full reworking. Matt
was also looking for input from

the feasibility of the project and other areas
of rationalisation that a database system could
bring to Crocodile Events". "We
embarked on a full business process analysis
with Crocodile Events in order to ascertain the
full breadth of their requirements. This
included a business process flow and mapping of
the current paper systems that employed by
Crocodile Events". "The database was
designed against strict User Requirement
Specifications to avoid the usual mistakes of
database development whereby the developer does
not fully understand the users needs. The final
product was delivered on time and within budget.
